this week i was doing a little closet purge. not of my rundholz collection (i hasten to add). but of other clothes, some of which i haven't worn for well over two years and some of which i recently thought might be a good new direction for me to go in but turned out not to be so much the case. this little purging exercise started me thinking about changing up my style and when doing so is change that is consistent with personal growth. as opposed to clinging to a me now gone. or being sentimental and wanting to go back to a time now past. or trying to be someone i am not. my goal with clothes is to have comfortable ones that are expressive of me in a given moment of time. i also want getting dressed to be an easy activity. when i purge or acquire these days, i try hard to focus on this. when i start giving reasons for hanging on to clothes that i haven't worn in years or that i knew weren't me the first time i wore them, or when i start conjuring up a scenario where i return to a style of dressing from years past, or when i start thinking about how some imaginary me might dress, i do have to have a serious discussion with myself about what is really going on. i (the me today) needs to wear the clothes. nothing else.
i am wearing rundholz dip 125 (dress and pullover) and rundholz dip 123 (hightops).
