i wore the second outfit to a "work thing" and someone remarked that i looked like a cloud. a rain or storm cloud i hope (the goth in me talking). it's cloud appearance aside, it is a super warm outfit -- likely the silk overlay and the flannel lining. very appropriate for some of the bitterly cold weather in my home city these first two weeks of 2025. the first outfit is my favourite suspender skirt from this season's (rundholz dip) collection, paired with a boiled wool hoodie dress (also from that collection). i should probably be wearing woollen tights with the outfit. but i have gotten out of the habit of wearing woollen tights (haven't worn them for several years). the past few winters, i haven't really needed to wear woollen tights. the winters haven't been that cold (or there have been fewer extended cold snaps). this winter, however, i may need some additional cover for the legs. i am going to give the shorts under dresses thing a go. i haven't really worn this outfit for long periods outdoors, so i have been mostly fine. i now have (having recently acquired them) some longish (knee length) sweatshorts to wear with the suspender skirt. hoping this works out! i don't know why i am resisting woollen tights ... but i am! and it is just the way i am -- i can't do anything unless i really want to do it!
