week 10 new looks: influences

not sure how i will feel about this way of "half-wearing" a pullover. in the future when i look back on these pics. could be the near future or the distant future. but it reflects new activities in my life and their influences on my way of dressing. so i will leave it at that. except to say that it does seem to be a practical way of cooling down a little when one gets overheated from wearing the pullover "properly".

i am wearing rundholz dip 222 (dress, trousers, overalls, pullover and sneakers).

I am living for those reds! I notice that you do not wear a lot of the black label line and I do wonder why you favour the mainline and dipp so much more.

i like all three lines. but i do have a preference for the dip line and, fairly recently, decided to focus my buying on that line. although almost as soon as i made that decision, i stepped away from it. this spring/summer, it will be mostly mainline that i will be purchasing. i think the dip line is the most experimental from a design and material perspective. that really appeals to me. also, from a (literal) fit perspective, it seems to fit me the best. mainline has been the toughest to figure out from a (literal) fit perspective. i have been given to understand that designs that first appear in the mainline and dip collections often appear some time later (usually a little reworked) in the black label line. i have actually seen this happen. i want to say that, in an ideal world, i would be consuming all three lines, but, knowing myself right now, i think that is probably truer of an older me than the current me. all three lines usually have different and very strong story lines behind them and i identify with story lines when i style myself. recently, i have found working with too many story lines too difficult -- it is like i am struggling with an identity crisis. with the decision that i made for this spring/summer, i am actually wondering whether, going forward, i will be picking not necessarily the dip line all the time, but the one line whose story line speaks the most to me that season. i guess i will find out after this spring/summer. some thoughts on the inquiry about why i favour a line or two. thanks for posing the "question" -- i like thinking about these sorts of things.
