from the wardrobetales rundholz repository (no. 20 05 18 16)

the other day, i did something usual, something that i haven't done for some time. i shopped for footwear in a big, fairly high-end department store. it was such a disappointment. not only because i came away empty-handed. but also because, that i was going to have no success in getting what i wanted, was communicated to me in seconds. it used to be that the sales person would disappear off the sales floor for some minutes to check if a desired shoe was in stock in my size. because of the time it took for the sales person to return to the sales floor, it felt like something real was actually happening behind the scenes, that real efforts were being made to locate the desired shoe in my size. now, the sales person checks his or her hand-held computer right in front of me and in mere seconds tells me that the desired shoe in my size is not available. i know that this is intended to enhance the shopping experience. but, somehow, it felt so unsatisfactory. or maybe it's just me. incidentally, since that bricks and mortar shopping experience, i managed to locate the desired shoe in my size from an online retailer. i haven't bought it ... yet.

sometimes, i become, not exactly obsessed, but overly desirous of meeting someone whose photo i have seen or about whom i have read or heard. to date, whenever i have actually met one of these individuals, i have been disappointed. why? because, in my mind, i write all sorts of stories about who they are, and when it turns out, upon meeting them, that all my stories are ... just that ... stories ... it seems like such a let down. these people are usually the sort of people to whom i cannot have regular access ... they don't inhabit my world ... so there isn't an opportunity to get to know them so as to reverse the initial disappointment. it seems so unfair to these people. but, then again, they aren't usually aware of any of this and i never name them to anyone. so there is no personal impact on them. the only loser in all of this ... is me. and, as this post attests, i live to tell the tale.

the carry it jacket

no sooner did i put on a jacket than i had to take it off. because it was that warm outside. like the rest of the "world", i could have taken a chance and left the house without the jacket. but i have done that too many times and been burned (or, rather, frozen). so i opted for wearing the jacket ... for about ten minutes ... and then carrying the jacket ... for the rest of the three or so hours that i was out and about.

i am wearing the mykonos top, the hood jacket, the cool pant and the aha jacket by kaliyana. my boots are the wrestle boot (cup collection) by trippen.

a lesson that i just can't seem to learn once and for all: sometimes it is worth waiting for the right time. the cardi that i am wearing here was a late purchase this past autumn/winter. i was somewhat surprised that someone had not scooped it up sooner. lucky me. i didn't actually wear it during the winter. by the time i got it, there was not enough of it (ha ha) to protect me from the cold weather. so i laid it aside and waited. for the right time. which came.

i am wearing rundholz dip a/w 2015/2016 (dress, skirt and cardi) and rundholz s/s 2016 (boots).

the secret wardrobe life of wardrobetales no. 15 (yoga girl edition)

in the early days of this blog, scattered amongst posts of my daily wardrobe were posts featuring some of my athleisure* wear ... or what i have come to call my yoga girl wardrobe ... in other words, clothes that i wear when i am en route to or from or hanging around the yoga studio. i haven't shown much of this wardrobe in a long while. i thought it might be fun to let some of it see the "light of this blog". yep, i love yoga pants just as much as every other yoga pants loving woman.

*a new term that i learned about the other day.

my athleisure wear (i just have to use that term over and over again) is by lululemon, gapfit and old navy active. my hightop sneaks are by john fluevog.

from the wardrobetales rundholz repository (no. 20 04 28 16)

my rundholz collection is growing. as it grows, i find myself turning to it more often. instead of it being something i turn to on occasion, when i want a break from another label, it is the collection that i turn to on an almost daily basis. to mark this development in my dressing habits, i have decided to give my rundholz collection more prominence on the blog. and what better way to launch the change on the blog than with an outfit that includes my very first piece of rundholz clothing (the pullover) and some things that i just acquired (the cropped trousers and the silver booties). (the hoodie underneath the pullover is from the just past autumn/winter collections.)

i am wearing rundholz black label s/s 2016 (trousers), rundholz black label a/w 2015/2016 (hoodie) and rundholz s/s 2016 (boots).
