plaid dress

once upon a time, there was a lot of plaid in my wardrobe. in fact, at some point, there was probably more plaid than anything else in my wardrobe. not so much these days. these days, it is mostly black, grey or (very rarely) some colour. solids. every once in a while some dots will appear. and, then, there are those very rare times when some other pattern, like plaid, will appear. this is one of only two plaid dresses that remain in my wardrobe. funny ... how i go from feast to famine (or from famine to feast)!

raspberries pullover

i like to think of this colour combination as raspberries and wine. not quite strawberries and champagne, but ... .

nothing new pullover

usually, when i first lay eyes on a new rundholz collection, i am overcome by this sense of frenzy. so much to take in. so much to sort through. so many decisions to make (not that i ever have the entire collection to choose from). panic usually follows the frenzy. what if i don't get everything that i want? finally, good sense (not to mention reality) sets in. i will get what i get and life will go on. i am getting exhausted just describing this process. this year, i am taking a short cut to good sense (and reality). either i am finally getting wise ... or the collection isn't doing it for me. considering the latter option, i think one of you warned me about this!

of a different stripe dress

at the risk of triggering something, do you ever find the same song playing over and over (and over) again in your head? usually this is annoying. but, sometimes, don't you find it, well, interesting. along the lines of having a soundtrack for your life? this happened to me recently. one day, it was debussy's clair de lune. the next day, it was karen o's cover of animation's obsession (the title song for starz's flesh and bone). i was so enjoying having these songs play in my head on those two days that i wished for a music supervisor for the ongoing series that is my life. i suppose i could  fit that bill. after all, i am everything else on that project! but, how nice would it be to have someone else play that role.

beliefs pullover

for whatever reason i can't get people to believe that my mode of transportation is not a bicycle. i would love for my mode of transportation to be a bicycle. i am thinking a kronan bicycle. here's the thing, though: i live in a city that is not bicycle-friendly. to bike requires a lot of courage and aggressiveness (of a certain sort). i just don't fit that bill.

the day before a break vest

this is what i wore before i took off for a smallish break away from work and the city. i went rural ... to a lovely country inn. it being winter, the place was warmed by a multitude of wood burning fireplaces. i don't think that i have ever been in an inn where every room, including each and every guest room, had a wood burning fireplace. if only i could escape to such a place every weekend.

and then there were four ... dress

because i love this dress. because three versions of this dress were not enough. and because how could i possibly not get this dress in a colour that i love. (p.s. now that i have stuck a flower pin on the black version of this hat, me thinks the bordeaux version of the hat needs a flower pin ... badly.)
