Whenever I wear black, white and red together, I am reminded of the bad joke, "What is black and white and red all over? The sunburnt zebra". I wore this "sunburnt zebra"outfit on Monday. And, yes, it seems as if I can't get enough of the souvenir Canada scarf.

The Sunburnt Zebra
Whenever I wear black, white and red together, I am reminded of the bad joke, "What is black and white and red all over? The sunburnt zebra". I wore this "sunburnt zebra"outfit on Monday. And, yes, it seems as if I can't get enough of the souvenir Canada scarf.

Thinking Of Candy Floss Jacket
I credit Paul Smith for inspiring me to pair together different plaids, plaid and gingham and plaid and prints. Before Paul Smith came into my life, I only ever wore one plaid or print at a time. Paul Smith may also be responsible for my experimenting with colour combinations. I am glad that I wore pink/fuschia today, such cheery, Spring-y colours. It is supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow. I am hoping that the cheeriness and Spring-iness of the pink/fuschia will rub off on me and carry me through the next few days of decidedly un-Springlike weather!

The Drum Majorette Jacket
When I was a child, I had a baton. I don't think that I ever succeeded in doing anything stellar with it. Fortunately, my never having come anywhere close to being a drum majorette doesn't mean that I can't today be inspired by a drum majorette's costumes. I acquired my "Drum Majorette Jacket" this past Fall, when I was admiring (and thinking that I would be sporting) the retro varsity style. I didn't end up wearing much in the way of the retro varsity style, which isn't a surprise to me, because I rarely end up dressing as I think I want to be dressing. I still do admire retro varsity style and, who knows, maybe some day I will wear more of it, likely when I am thinking that I will be wearing some other style!

The Amelia Earhart Outfit
There are photos of Amelia Earhart from her last flight in which she wears a plaid shirt (which looks like a large gingham check shirt), a scarf tied around the neck of the shirt (one of her signatures) and belted trousers. I was thinking of these pictures of Amelia Earhart when I put together today's outfit. For me, Amelia Earhart was a master at mixing the masculine and feminine (and not just in clothing). It is one of the reasons why I am so fascinated with her. And, since I am sort of "in the past", speaking of Amelia Earhart, I will stay there: The boots that I wore today remind me of another pair of boots, a pair that I wore (to their death) when I was at university. This didn't occur to me the other day, when I wore these same boots. A lot of the things that I am wearing these days seem to be reminding me of my university days (and my university wardrobe). Am I regressing in style?
