some time ago, i may have mentioned that i have embarked on a campaign to make myself "more buff". this has entailed working out four times a week more than previously (which was four times a week) and adding different workouts than i did previously. working out as often as this means i spend a lot of time wearing (not to mention, laundering) workout clothes and "athleisure" (which for me means clothes that are like workout clothes (e.g., "track pants", "track jackets" and skirts and dresses made of "workout friendly" material) that i wear to and from my workouts). super comfortable. but there is this one small problem: when i get used to wearing workout gear and "athleisure", i seem to forget how to dress casually wearing my "regular" clothing. this was outfit number four for a trip to the "summer fair" (and one of the four outfits was an "athleisure" one). now, i am not saying that one can't wear "athleisure" other than to take one to and from a workout. but, radical though i am when it comes to the look of my clothing, i still like to compartmentalize my outfits in a fairly traditional manner. maybe because i have so many clothes -- it seems a waste, for example, to have denim (which i can't wear to work, nor can i workout in it) and not take the opportunity to wear it on a casual weekend outing because i would rather live in my workout clothes.

i tried to wear sea (one of the colours in this season's rundholz black label collection), but i guess i wasn't feeling very sea-worthy today. so the default kicked it: black.

i am wearing rundholz black label s/s 2016 (dress and sneaks).

to the extent that i live for clothes, the arrival of august brings with it that dance between continuing to enjoy the current season's crop of clothes and imagining what i might be wearing in several weeks' time from next season's crop of clothes. i survive the dance by repeating to myself the phrase "live in the present". it's my end of season mantra. (helping with the "live in the present" sentiment, end of season sales -- picked me up some more shoes and specs.)

once upon a (pre-blog) time, i had a pair of hush puppies. the vintage suede loafer kind. these rundholz black label shoes remind me a lot of those hush puppies.

i am wearing rundholz black label s/s 2017 (dress, top and shoes). (p.s. that white patch on my arm is one of those heat patches. about a month ago, i decided that i was going to spend the summer making myself "more buff". so i added some different workouts to my usual regimen. and i am feeling it. not a lot. but on this day enough that i wanted the "pain relief" brought by a heat patch.)

this was the day that i got "caramelized". i was at a birthday party and decided to help myself to, what looked like, a tiny chocolate delicacy.  little did I know that the tiny chocolate delicacy was chocolate only on the outside. on the inside was liquified caramel. what i should have done was popped the entire thing in my mouth. but i didn't do that. instead i took a bite. which released the liquified caramel. all down my clothes. i got "caramelized". fortunately, my shoes got spared. the clothes were easily laundered. the shoes, made of nubuck leather, would have been harder to "de-caramelize".

i am wearing rundholz mainline s/s 2017 (shoes) and rundholz black label s/s 2017 (one piece and top).
