the secret wardrobe life of wardrobetales no. 6 (rundholz edition)

i have been wearing rundholz -- some old and some new -- quite a bit lately. it just feels like a safe transition (from one season to the next) wardrobe for me. (come to think of it, i think that i wore rundholz quite a bit when i was transitioning from this past fall to this past winter.) putting aside the fact that rundholz seems to be my current safe transition wardrobe, here is what i think makes for a safe transition wardrobe ... speaking "generically": it is one with enough new new season pieces that you can wear immediately, making you feel like there is movement from the old season to the new season, but with enough old old season pieces (that you love) that you can fall back on when progress to the new season halts and you find yourself suddenly back in the old season.

all my clothes are rundholz (black label). my boots are by john fluevog (kind of hooked on these boots for some reason).

spring impressions tunic and skirt

after the long, miserable winter that i (and many with me) had to endure, i want to savour every single moment of spring and summer (and even fall) because i know that, where i live, spring and summer (and fall) are fleeting. if i am not very mindful of them, before i know it they will be gone and i will be back in winter. that thought just makes me feel so anxious right now. (i am sure the anxiety will pass -- right now, winter is still too real a memory.)

i am wearing the nagoya dress, the l/s akiko top and the amazing skirt by kaliyana. my boots are the pluto boot (closed collection) by trippen.

puffy vest

still dressing like it is winter. sigh. i tried out some of my new spring/summer clothing the other day. just in the house. for kicks. okay ... and to quell a worry. i worry (a little, not a lot) that, given the long, cold winter, i have lost touch with my spring/summer layering self. i worry that when it gets warm enough to bring out the spring/summer clothing (for real), i won't know how to dress. then again, and on a more optimistic note, sometimes a long period of winter layering inspires a "new" approach to spring/summer layering. i not only know how to dress for spring/summer, i am better at it than ever before. see: playing dress-up in the house with my new spring/summer clothing works!

i am wearing the alpen top and the tokyo hat by kaliyana. my pullover and vest are rundholz (black label). my dress and trousers are a local label (motion). i am wearing the rectangle boot (closed collection) by trippen.

spring pleats

i recently discovered a new u.s. label: dressed to kill. known, i am told, for its fabrics as much as for its clothing construction. this dress/tunic is my third piece from the label. from my point of view, there is nothing particularly unusual about the fabric of the dress/tunic -- seems just like linen to me. my other two pieces, which haven't debuted on the blog yet, are definitely unusual both in fabric and in construction (the hem of a dress has a wire in it!).

i am wearing the alpen top, the pleat jacket and the delphi scarf by kaliyana. my trousers are by grizas and my dress/tunic is by dressed to kill. i am wearing the noon boot (box collection) by tripped.

sometimes i just need to put on something that felt comfortable ... on numerous previous occasions.

i am wearing the outside shirt and the scarf sweater by kaliyana. my trousers are by grizas. i am wearing the noon boot (box collection) by tripped.
