spotted trousers

sometimes when i shop (in a bricks and mortar store), this happens to me: i am all set to go, the shop clerk is tallying up my total, when something happens to give me more time to "keep shopping" (as they say in the online shop world). i got these spotted trousers on such an occasion. the funny thing with the purchase of these spotted trousers was that i had actually gone through every piece of clothing on every rack in the store before heading to the check out. or so i thought. because i didn't (caution: accidental pun ahead) spot the trousers on my first go-through of the racks. luckily i did (caution: accidental pun ahead) spot them when i was given the opportunity to "keep shopping". serendipity i would say.

p.s. i want a dress made of this spotted fabric!

i am wearing the alpen top and tokyo hat by kaliyana. i am also wearing a woollen pullover by rundholz (black label). my dress and trousers are a local label (motion). i am wearing the scope boot (box collection) by trippen.

french terry trousers (and dress)

originally, i wore these trousers made of french terry (not to mention the dress, also made of french terry) on my days off work. then it dawned on me that they (the trousers and the dress) were warm (warm, i tell you!), meaning that, while they (the trousers and the dress) could serve me well on my days off work, i should also make them (the trousers and the dress) serve me well on working days. for the cold doesn't appear only on my days off work. in fact, this winter, it has appeared on more working days than on days off work. so why should i not wear a perfectly good (warm!) pair of trousers (and dress) on all days of the week? so i am!

stripes on the bottom dress

i am trying very hard to put some variety into my polar vortex wardrobe, but all i am managing to do is vary the "middle layer" (the part between the trousers and the sweater that i have dubbed the "warmest sweater ever"). extreme weather (be it extreme cold or extreme hot) really reduces the amount of clothes in my wardrobe that i can rely on. the lesson for me here? clearly, i have moderate weather in mind when i shop for clothes. this isn't really surprising, given that extreme weather probably takes up only two months (max four months) of each year. that said, those few months seem really long when i am limited to a small usable wardrobe. maybe i should start having extreme weather in mind when i shop for clothes, particularly since i have (more than) enough moderate weather clothing in my wardrobe.

i am wearing the alpen top and the tokyo hat by kaliyana. i am also wearing a sweater dress by lauren vidal, trousers by grizas and a pullover sweater by rundholz (black label). my boots are the scope boot (box collection) by trippen.
